Louis Leeman Enlisting and Resisting Fall / Winter 2015 – 2016

For AW15 2015 the Louis Leeman collection was inspired by the Navy world. Creative directors Louis Leeman and Erica Pelosini tried to explore a world that has always been associated to the main traits of Manhood: Bravery, Strength, Pride, Discipline, and Elegance. The colors of the collection recall the crisp navy blue and white uniforms, the classic mix of jungle greens to the khaki service colors, a splash of plaid and a staple of the utilitarian vision of surplus, camouflage.

Eye Respect present the 2014 collections at Silmo, Paris

The end of September culminates in one the biggest dates of the opticians calender, that of the Silmo exhibition in Paris at the Parc des Expositions. Eye Respect proudly crossed the channel and set up our private school, heritage throwback themed stand, where we presented our 2014 offerings for the core Eye Respect collection and AM Eyewear, as well as our guest collections by Eye Respec t for UK designers Oliver Spencer and A.Sauvage. The show was a hit, and the Eye Respect booth was the subject of much attention and international business.

Juun J Spring Summer 2014 Collection at Paris Fashion Week

 I  felt like British designer JW Anderson should have been front row at the Juun J show to take notes on how to play the feminine silhouette card with menswear. This is not the first time we are seeing Juun J play with neoprene but i'm sure we can see how he did not only change the print but also the cuts and shapes...in fact Ricardo Tisci should have been front row at this show alongside Mr Anderson.

Balmain Spring Summer Men's 2014 Collection

Asides from the gaudy crests on some of the jackets, this was a well rounded collection from Balmain. A bit heavy on the garms considering its a summer collection, nonetheless i enjoyed the deft craftsmanship applied to leather. My fav piece would have to be the leather jumpsuit below. A tad reminiscent of pilot garb...but maybe pilots of private jets carrying oil rich Russian Oligarchs. 

Givenchy Spring Summer 2014 Collection at The Paris Fashion Week

 Certain top labels have created a signature silhouette and look. The only thing they change every season is either motifs of prints. Even the looks gets styled the same and we start to get new word hybrids like Givenchy-esque or Dolce & Gabbana- ish.... I'm completely bored of these brands. I adored Givenchy in the past and own a couple of 'it' tees from them but i've found peace selling them off on ebay. Ricardo Tisci and his house need to go back to the drawing board and really give us something new, different from previous collections with more substance not just print.

Kenzo Spring Summer 2013 Men's Sneakers

 These sneakers have got an extended sole that make them platform shoes with a bit of disguisery. Perfect for the lad wanting to add a few inches to his height or just anyone really. To be frank Kenzo's camo adaptation is one of the best i've seen lately. Love the color fusions and explosions.

 Not exactly my cup of tea cos of the huge chunks of leather but still Kenzo's on its upward trail. Will preview more accessories from their SS13 collection in subsequent posts.

 Looking forward to the Kenzo AW13 collections but here's a reminder to how beautiful the spring summer 2013 collection is.... Humberto at the gang have brought life back to this Chinese brand by way of Paris.

 I'm prolly the last person who's caught the Kenzo fever but not copped any of the Tiger prints. This condition would most likely come to an end soon as I've got my eyes on these too, more on the red though.

Doberman is The New Rottweiler: Givenchy Pre-Fall 13

Ricardo Tisci and his team stay delivering season upon season. I hope the Givenchy X H&M collabo becomes a reality interesting how the prints develop season to season with new shapes birthed by previous ones. Smart styling too, leaving us wanting me. Viva Givenchy.
