In a move that will surprise few, Microsoft is to buy Nokia's mobile phone business, along with a warchest of related patents. The deal, if Nokia shareholders and regulators permit it, would see Microsoft pay a total of £4.6 billion -- £3.2 billion for the phone business, £1.4 billion for patents -- in cash. WIRED UK
