 For SS15, our Cobbler-in-Chief was inspired by the idea of the chair as the ultimate expression of design, and the wide variety of materials, constructions, forms and memories associated with great designer chairs. 

Oliver Sweeneys ‘made in Italy’ line of footwear and accessories for spring summer 2015 employs luxury materials, hand-burnished leather fused with new patterns to create a vibrant feel for the London based British brand.

I’m personally a fan of their more informal shoes like the 100% leather sneakers from the Compass Collection that retail a lot cheaper but are better in quality and durability when compared to other ‘it’ sneakers.

They’ve upgraded their offerings and added some manbags which are not anything exciting but really practical and some parts made from buffalo leather.

The Oliver Sweeney ss14 footwear collection was presented to press today as well. A lot of their staples got a new treatment for ss14. There was also a use of the Fin project extralight xl sole which keeps the shoes light but still durable. Said to be a new technology developed by the brand.

Presented by friend of the brand and TV presenter Rick Edwards, the event featured a number of up and coming musicians and dance acts including Matt Woods , Rufio Summers, Wet Wipez and BBC Introducing Stage headliner at this year’s Glastonbury Festival, Mikill Pane , as well as music throughout the night from DJ IQ .  

Guests included a number of Made in Chelsea faces from Rosie Fortescue to Lucy Watson, Louise Thompson and Spencer Matthews as well as influential fashion blogger Ella Catliffe (La Petite Anglais), Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model finalist Sophie Ellson, and models BB Kaye and Jesse Burgess.
