For the Belstaff Spring/Summer 2013 Menswear
collection, Chief Creative Officer, Martin Cooper was inspired by the
romanticism of global travel. In keeping with the brand’s history there is a
prominent focus on the outerwear. Within the collection there are strong
archival references that Cooper has reinvented by modernizing the fit and
mixing unexpected materials, such as cotton with waxed crocodile or linen with
suede. References to vintage travel cases are found in the leather belts and
collars that are bonded to a linen raffia trench coat and a linen canvas
Trialmaster jacket.
