Beyond Fabric Portuguese Capes - Get wrapped up for Fall '13

Debuting its first collection this season, Beyond Fabric brings to life an exclusive selection of century-old capes worn by shepherds in Southern Portugal (Capotes Alentejanos). Digging deep into its cultural heritage, the collection is inspired by the motto: "Tradition: maintaining function, updating design" - resorting to the traditional manufacturing techniques and authentic materials, such as the unique wool fabric Burel, fur collars and checked inner linings, while delivering a more fitted silhouette than the original version (without altering the cape-like essence).

These limited edition Beyond Fabric capes favor mutton fur instead of fox for the collars and feature a unique handcrafted vest-like construction with two top layers draping over for a trademark aesthetic, while the tight weave on the fabric  makes it both wind and waterproof. Embodying years of cultural heritage, tradition and craftsmanship, these capes are the ultimate statement outerwear piece, perfect to wear over a suit or a more casual attire. Soon available at Beyond Fabric online store.
