Goodbye 2008!!!!!!!!!!! :O)

This has been my best year so far and i'm grateful for the serenity calm and peace the almighty granted me thoughout this year. I got a graduate degree in Marketing and i'd be going to fashion school next June. I actually stumbled upon fashion blogs while i was researching for my final year project out of boredom. So i opened it in May but really got into it when i finally graduated in July and look how far we've come :o) special thanx to all my wonderful readers!!!!! may you and your loved ones get everything you wish for next year...oops dats unrealistic....ok most of the things you wish for lol.

Lova (Get Familiar)

LOVA was Founded in 2004 by Daniel Murphy, Giuseppe Valentini, and Nikolas Apostolopoulos. As a whole, the brand demonstrates classic designs with modern tailoring, refined details, slim silhouettes, and luxurious fabrics that reference the manners and fashions of true gentleman. They were amongst the pioneers of the dressy micro collared shirt that's all the rave at the moment. This is one line to look forward to in 2009 because they are able to perform and deliver quality and elegance as promised.

Blazers for Spring

Asos Gingham Blazer retails for $58.73 and is a good bargain if you'd ask me. Its fitted and short just the way i like it although some of you might not. Gingham is a good bargain for spring and i love this color. I love the way the buttons on the shirt are done up,so du jour right now. Asos Chambray Blazer retails for $66.08. Take notice of the handkerchief pockets and the rest i love the casual chic feel. Another good investment for you sartorial armoury.

Asos Stripe Blazer retails for $58.73. Gucci has this exact kind of blazer in their cruise 09 collection and that goes for $500 upwards can't really remember the price. So that shows you how relevant this might be to your wardrobe.

Louis Vuitton has won my best luxury brand award this year. The decision was made based on the effort and amount of products they created for menswear. From the collection with Marc Jacobs, Takashi Murakami and a whole other designs like the Tobago shoe bag.... They certainly were the most dedicated to menswear. And i love my Monogram soft briefcase, its worth every penny.

Tom Ford ss09 Lookbook

Tom Ford's ss09 lookbook was pretty impressive to me. I love his take on feminine colors and turning them masculine. Every other thing was typical Tom, Still the same cuts for his suits and trousers.

The average guy wears a chain bracelet or rubber band on his wrists apart from his wristwatch. But the metrosexual man should go one step ahead and invest in some beads, wrapped leather and wooven jute to adorn his wrists.The good thing about these sort of ornaments is that you can layer them to add more flair and swagger to your outfit. 1. Day Birger et Mikkelsen plain bib stripe shirt retails for $73.50. Day Birger et Mikkelsen is a Danish label that designs both men and womenswear. It was formed in 1997 and is partly owned by Icelandic investment group Baugur. Grandad collars are du jour and i see it continuing all the way in 2009. 2. Bruuns Bazaar Bib Front Mini Check Shirt retails for $67.50. Bruuns Bazaar is a Scandinavian fashion label from Danish brothers Teis Bruun and Bjorn Bruun.The company was founded in 1995, and in 1999 it became the first Scandinavian fashion house to enter official show calendar in Paris in January 1999.The brand has collections for menswear, womenswear, and accessories.Micro collars are all the rave right now.

3. Religion Jersey Bib Front Shirt retails for $42. Available in black also. Bib front shirts are no longer the commodity of Lawyers, as menswear drives towards more dressy looks expect to see a lot of inspiration from learned professions.
4.Junk-De-Luxe-Chambray-Stripe-Shirt retails for $84. For brand history read my previous Post on Junk de Luxe. Notice the overlapping button flap on the Granda collar.....awesome.

5. Full Circle Mini Double Button Gingham retails for $40.50. Full circle is a 12 year old brand that targets 25-35 men. It also has womenswear. A lot of pin down collars have buttons in the characteristic sharp end point of the collar but this shirt defies the norm and raises the buttons higher to create this masterpiece. I heart this shirt mightily :o)

6. Farah-Vintage-The-Foster-Check-Long-Sleeve-Shirt retails for $52.50. Farah was formed by Monsieur Farah in 1920 and opened facilities in the UK 1971. Hitherto it has been seen as a Dad brand but now that "Dad" is in , its being appreciated by a new set of consumers.

7. Peter Werth Small Contrast Collar Shirt retails for $45. Peter Werth was founded in london 1975 and has over the years established itself as one of the UK's most respected brands with its classic styling and clean cuts, the shirt below evidences this fact.

Asos brush check Plimsolls

Plimsolls are my favorite footwear this year. Being a strong advocate of skinny jeans i bet you would all agree that no footwear fits skinny jeans as much as plimsolls. Plimsolls are not the average sneaker, they are dressy mainly because of its flat sole and wingtips similar to most dress shoes. Acne mens shoes

Acne the Swedish brand is one i adore a lot like Cheap monday or H&M. Unlike Cheap monday Acne has moved from just jeans production to include almost all items of clothing in a man's wardrobe. These shoes are so preppy i love the laces a lot it adds a lot of swagger to the shoes. However i'm not too comfortable with shoes that have shiny waterproof like surface, they look awful as they age.

Junk de Luxe

Junk de Luxe is my favorite menswear brand this year. Their designs have got this edge and kind of sex appeal that few men resonate with.Junk de Luxe Clothing started way back in 1986 by Thomas Gundorph, he was one of the first in Europe to import original second hand Levis from the US. After bringing them over he would redesign the items and then trade them along with many other second hand items by the brand name Junk de Luxe.
